APMI meet to be held in 2nd week of Jan

In the second week of January, All Pakistan Micro Industries (APMI) will hold a convention in Islamabad, aiming to offer improved environment for cottage industry in the country.

Due to the tragic demise of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, the conference, which was scheduled to be held on December 28, was postponed.

The organizers of the event anticipate participation from household industries resource, engineers, custom officials, sale tax and economic development experts from all over Pakistan.

The meeting would discuss the means to improve on prevailing condition of cottage industry and enhance the working circumstances of specially the sewing and knitting sector. This would also help to provide employment to the people living in remote areas and better their living standard.
