Presently she is the Advisor (Gender) of Social Welfare Department to coordinate women's Development and women empowerment, in the GoK. Other members of the Committee are Sri. Jose Sebastian(Institute of Entrepreneur Development), Sri. V.K.C. Mohammed Koya, Ex MLA (leading industrialist), Dr. Salim (Professor & Management Expert, T.K.M. Institute of Management, Kollam) and Sri. M.R. Karmachandran ( Deputy General Manager, KSIDC).
The committee will have a term of three months. The broad terms and conditions of the committee will be:
• To examine the impact of the Commerce Sector to the State's economy
• To analyse the advantages and disadvantages of the Commerce Sector with reference to Kerala
• To study the issues facing the growth of the Commerce Sector
• Committee to study the existing discrepancies if any and make a comparison with other sectors and to highlight justifications if any,
• A comparison of the various incentives / assistance extended by other State Governments / other countries in the Commerce Sector
• Committee to suggest methods to improve the Commerce Sector
• Committee to submit clear cut findings and recommendations for the development of the Commerce Sector
• To suggest an immediate Action Plan for further growth of the sector
The Committee proposes to convene district level meetings to gather ideas and opinions from various organizations such as Chamber of Commerce, Vyapari-Vyavasayi Associations, Hotel & Restaurant Associations, other organizations.
