Partnership Summit highlights Vision Haryana initiative

Elaborating on the investor friendly climate in the state Mr Chaudhary said that the State Government has created a strong legal framework ensuring time bound clearances to projects, creation of Industry Portal where investors can track the status of clearances to their projects, emphasis on self certification and creation of single window mechanism.

Sharing Maruti's experience with Haryana, Mr R C Bhargava, Chairman Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said that the company has grown from 1 lakh unit capacity to 1 million units, over the past 25 years.

The initial project and all expansions have been completed in time without any cost overruns. This he said was a testimony to the state government's support to industry.

Setting up of the Maruti project in the state has catalysed the creation of a vibrant auto and auto component industry in the state leading to job creations for the people of the state and revenue generation for the government.

Sharing his experience of doing business in the state, Mr Pawan Munjal, Past Chairman CII Northern Region & Managing Director & CEO Hero Honda Motors Ltd, said that Haryana has taken a focused and an integrated approach towards development.

Proximity to capital Delhi and the growth of the BPO sector has lead to a tremendous boom in the infrastructure and real estate sectors. The proactive approach of the state government has lead to rapid progress in the manufacturing sector including the auto sector.

The state is home to 8 of the large auto manufacturers in the country, 3000 auto component manufacturing units, the largest auto manufacturer in the country and the largest two wheeler manufacturer in the world.

Mr Munjal suggested that for the development of the agriculture sector, the state government should encourage switch to value added crops and contract farming. Participation in the National Horticulture Mission also needs to be strengthened, he added.

Earlier while delivering the opening remarks , Mr Deep Kapuria Chairman CII Northern Region & Managing Director Hi-Tech Gears Ltd said that the state has witnessed tremendous growth and development in the last three years.
