While discussing about the present trend, Ms Harold said, 'Green, Green, Green! But the challenge is to be able to clearly define what green really means within the supply chain. We have built workshops around these types of topics, which are already sold out. These include, 'Demystifying What Green Really Means', hosted by synthetic, leather and textile industry specialists - Karla S Magruder and Nicholas M Yardy PhD, as well as other workshops, like 'Examining Material Innovation from Fashion, Technology & Performance' and 'Utilizing Innovation from all Markets to Inspire New Materials and Designs'.
According to Ms Courtney, in next five years the road is not going to be easy for the industry as consolidation among retailers is a huge trend, customization, differentiation and speed to market is slow. This means, from a suppliers viewpoint, the need to adapt to more color and finishes, lower minimums and shorter delivery dates get all the importance.
Following the Materials Expo, visitors to The main WSA Show will be able to peek at various categories like footwear for men, women and children footwear, handbags, accessories, shoe care, jobbers, athletic footwear, computer technology, publications, footwear industry associations, international pavilions and designer collections.
It can be said that it is the ultimate footwear exhibition and a must visit for all.
