German-Arab Economic Forum to take place in Berlin

The German exports to the Arab countries are on the rise further. They took in the first six months of 2007 compared with the first half of 2006 were up 16.2 percent to around 11.4 billion euros.

As in previous years, had the German exports to the Arab world is developing very dynamically. Also, the presence of German companies in the region has significantly increased. In the United Arab Emirates have over 500 German companies are located.

For the 10th German-Arab Economic Forum, around 850 visitors from Germany, Europe and the Arab world has come - a new record.

"The economic forum has doubled in the last ten years, the most important German-Arab economic platform in Berlin… I will continue to do everything so that our economic relations are developing well," said German Economics Minister Michael Glos during the opening ceremony of the 10th German-Arab Economic Forum.

Despite persistent tensions in the Middle East, the German trade with the Arab countries is developing dynamically. Meanwhile, the German exports to this region is higher than Germany's exports to the ASEAN countries, or to Latin America.
