China General Representative Ms. Flora visits Coir Board

An Official delegation from China, headed by Ms. Flora Tian, China General Representative, India China Economic and Cultural Council visited Coir Board on 25th February, 2008 and held discussions with senior Officials of Coir Board.

Shri P Ahith Kumar, Joint Director and the Officers of the Coir Board received the delegation at Coir Board Head Quarters, Kochi.

She was accompanied by Ms Joan Huang, Commercial Representative, India China Economic and Cultural Council. They have also visited the coir producing centers at Alleppey and Trikunnapuzha.

The delegation attended a meeting at Coir Board Head Office, Kochi where various matters connected with the development of Coir Industry in China were discussed at length.

A presentation depicting various facets of the Coir Industry was made before the delegation. Shri P Ahith Kumar, Joint Director Coir Board welcomed the delegates and explained the activities undertaken by the Board for the development of Coir Industry in India.

The delegation was impressed upon the way of Coir Industry converts waste into wealth and the presentation highlighted the tremendous potential for setting up of Coir based Industry.

The team members evinced the keen interest for developing the Coir Industry in their country. They appealed to the Government of India and Coir Board to extend maximum possible technical support for the development of Coir Industry in China.
