Each day the world is getting technologically advanced and with each new invention, knowingly or unknowingly enough harm is done to natural surroundings. Thus, the slow deterioration of environment has resulted in global warming.

The rise in temperature and deforestation has become a matter of concern not only for environmentalist but also for furniture designers world over, who use wood extensively to make excellent pieces of furniture.

Home furnishings, is one segment where in lot of research is taking place as durability of the product needs to be taken care of. Although, bamboo and timber are some options that are being opted by furniture manufacturers, they are still not the first choice among buyers.

Experts from design field believe that, there is a long way to go as the entire sector is going through a sea change. In a recently held Milan Furniture Fair, a group of designers displayed various applications of reusable or recycled materials.

Environmentalists see the new path that is being chosen by the young generation of designers, for showing readiness to break free from the stereotype. It is expected that the consumers will also accept the recycled and eco friendly furniture enthusiastically.
