According to available statistics from Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the month of April, Vietnam earned US $330 million from the exports of footwear, which is almost equivalent to figure of March.
In the past four months, the export turnover reached just $1.35 billion, demonstrating a rise of 15.7 percent in comparison to the similar period previous year.
However, market analysts are unhappy with such a figure as total turnover in these four months accounts for just 30 percent of target of 2008.
Experts fear that with such a low pace, the country might not be able to reach its set target for the present fiscal year, as Vietnam is already facing various difficulties in the exports of footwear especially in the EU market.
