DHL Express, the world's leading express delivery and logistics company has announced its DAY DEFINITE and TIME DEFINITE UK Couriers of the Year.
The award, which is part of DHL's Courier Recognition Scheme, acknowledges outstanding service and commitment to exceeding customers' expectations. Nominations are based on verbal and written customer feedback and are judged on a local, regional and national level.
Michelle Bond, who has worked as a DHL courier in the Bradford-on-Avon route for 16 years, was named DAY DEFINITE UK Courier of the Year for her ongoing commitment to her customers in the area.
“I'm proud and honoured to win; I'm also amazed, considering how many other couriers across the country were nominated”, said Michelle.
She added: “I've been delivering to some of my clients for about 16 years now. I really know them and the area, so we've built some great personal relationships.”
Sheffield courier Duncan Dales was recognised for his outstanding customer service and awarded DHL's TIME DEFINITE Courier of the Year.
“I was very surprised to be picked,” said Duncan, “but I'm also obviously very proud. I think no matter what job you're doing it's always nice when someone takes the time to say thank you. And, of course, it's even nicer if they give you a really good prize as well!”
In recognition of their efforts, DHL has awarded prizes to both Michelle and Duncan. Michelle received a VIP trip for two to this year's British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 6 July, and Duncan swapped his Transit van for high performance sports cars at Bedford Aerodrome.
Ken McCall, CEO of DHL UK and Ireland, added: “Michelle and Duncan have a vital role as the last link in the delivery chain, making sure that packages from around the world arrive safely at their destinations on time.
With a network that links more than 220 countries and territories, DHL is the first choice for customers because of its extensive reach but it's people like Michelle and Duncan that provide the personal touch that ensures an enjoyable customer experience.”
