Shoe and leather expo to commence tomorrow

The three day Shoes and Leather Vietnam 2008 fair, will begin from tomorrow at the International Exhibition and Convention Center, Tan Binh District, HCMC.
The event is organized by Vietnam Leather-Shoes Association (Lefaso) in association with Vietnam Leather-Shoes Joint-Stock Co. (Leprodexim)and international exhibition organizer Top Repute and Hien Dat Co, Hong Kong.
The organizers are expecting nearly 115 entrepreneurs from almost 18 nations to participate in the exhibition and display their products made by using latest technologies.
Businessmen from countries like Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India and Indonesia, along with Italy, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam will exhibit their items.
This time more than 8,000 visitors are expected to come and visit the expo, which has so far been successful in providing a prominent platform to the enterprises related to manufacturing footwear and leather products.
According to the official statistics, Vietnam earned nearly US $4 billion of foreign currency through exports of shoes and leather products. Experts suggest that, in 2008 the earning may slightly increase and reach $4.5 billion. Exports from January to August this year, have already fetched around $3.2 billion, showcasing a significant hike of 18.5 percent when compared to same time of 2007.
