The annual general meeting of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) was held last week at the FBCCI Conference Centre in Dhaka. The meeting was chaired by the President of FBCCI, Mr Annisul Huq and attended by all the office bearers and members of the association.
Among many things that the President mentioned in his speech was the proposal by the FBCCI to set up a FBCCI Institute of Entrepreneurship funded by different donor agencies. The other point of note that the President made in his speech was a noble initiative by each and every business man to provide employment to an un-employed person.
In his written speech, the president also spoke about the economic crisis at length. He went on to say that though the domestic economy is shielded from the effects of the crisis, the impact of the meltdown on exports and foreign remittances cannot be wished away.
