The Association for Retail Technology Standards will display its ninth annual Standard Pavilion during the National Retail Federation's Annual Convention and EXPO, being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, January 11-14, 2009. The pavilion will showcase standards-based applications that meet the high ROI threshold of today's business climate. NRF's EXPO floor is open Monday, January 12 and Tuesday, January 13, 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

This year's theme, “Complexity Made Simple,” states the central benefit of ARTS standards, which is that ARTS can help reduce the complexity of implementing SOA, integrating new applications, adding features and devices to POS without replacement and constructing a data architecture based on the ARTS operational and warehouse Models.

The expanded Solution Center offers visitors information on applications that support retail businesses and how ARTS standards can accelerate implementations and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). Pavilion sponsors ADC, Axis, Bizerba, Epson, Escalate Retail, IBM, MagTek, Microsoft, ProfitBase, Progress Software, SoftSolutions and Third Solutions — companies who have expended the extra time and effort to create standards-based solutions — will illustrate the value of the Solution Center scenarios in real time. Demonstrations will focus on categories of high-value solutions for the current difficult economy:

* Managing stock levels

* Increasing sales and service through effective promotions

* Improved checkout processes

* Rapidly implementing business changes; agility

Also in the Pavilion, guests can chat with leading chief information officers and ARTS Committee Chairs that lead the development of ARTS standards. A schedule will be posted on www.nrf-arts.org and in the Pavilion.

NRF's Annual Convention and EXPO serves as the world's leading retail event, bringing 18,500 retail executives and vendors from more than 50 countries together for educational and networking opportunities. NRF's EXPO floor, open on Monday and Tuesday of the Convention, hosts more than 600 exhibiting companies and features a one-of-a-kind DESiGN STUDiO. NRF's Convention is ranked as one of the Top 200 events in North America, as well as one of the 50 fastest-growing events, according to Tradeshow Week.

The Association for Retail Technology Standards of the National Retail Federation is an international membership organization dedicated to reducing the costs of technology through standards.
