'Govt to integrate environmental issue in future plans' – Industry Minister

At a seminar organised by the leather sector called 'Switch-Asia', a technical programme concerning the industry, the chief guest Mr Dilip Barua, Minster of Industries in the Government of Bangladesh said that the government is planning to integrate environmental issues at the centre of its planning in the light of new emerging challenges.
He added by saying that, “There is no alternative to using and adapting new supportive policies to keep the environment safe and clean and when framing new policies, foremost attention would be paid to environmental issues which will take care of using natural resources efficiently, keeping pollution levels to minimum and reducing risk to human lives”.
'Switch-Asia' programme' has been organised under the umbrella of EU-Asia Business Partnership and has been organised jointly by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI)and SEQUA, a German based technical agency and is funded by UNIDO, in a bid to achieve environmentally friendly practices in the leather sector.
