Approval given to 22 projects for export promotions

Recently, the 54th meeting of the Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund (EDF) was held in the Ministry of Commerce under the tutelage of the Minister, Mr Fahim. During the meeting, the Board approved 22 projects amounting to Rs 1.11 billion.
This amount will be spent on promotion for exports in various sectors. Among the promotions are establishing a college for fashion and design in Karachi, allocation of additional funds for freight subsidy scheme and for exporters who wish to open overseas offices.
The meeting was attended by the Secretaries from the Commerce and Textile Ministry, CEO of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDA), officials from the Finance Ministry and representatives of key and major trade associations in Pakistan.
