IL&FS & SIDBI to train consultants for leather sector

Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) will provide training to consultants, who in turn will help the leather industry to stand on its feet.
A pool of fresh engineering graduates has been set up, who will conduct an analysis and give their assessment of the problems faced by the leather sector in Kanpur and they in turn will be helped by reputed consultants.
The global economic crisis has taken its toll on the leather sector in India and Kanpur in particular, since it is the hub of leather goods manufacturing industry in India and many leather companies face imminent closure.
These engineers will be provided a one year training to be conducted by the Kanpur Productivity Council and will include modules on investment banking, drafting proposals and leather specific consultancy.
