Japan once again China's third largest trading partner

Recently it was reported that the bloc of ASEAN countries had taken the third position in overseas trade with China in the month of May. But recent figures released for first half of 2010, indicate that Japan has overtaken the ASEAN bloc to regain its third position.

In the first half of 2010, China's bilateral trade with Japan realized US $136.55 billion, up 37 percent. Among them, China's exports to Japan fetched $55.11 billion, up 25.2 percent year on year and imports marked $81.44 billion, up 46.3 percent.

Bilateral trade between China and the EU reached $219.42 billion from January to June, up 37.2 percent year on year and trade with the United States completed $171.99 billion, up 30.2 percent year on year.

Over the same period, bilateral trade between China and ASEAN totaled 136.49 billion, up 54.7 percent year on year. Among them, exports registered $64.6 billion, up 45.4 percent and imports from ASEAN fetched $71.89 billion, up 64 percent.

China's bilateral trade with Brazil stood at $26.39 billion, up 60.3 percent year on year. Among them, exports scored $10.32 billion and imports from Brazil came to $16.07 billion, up 41.1 percent.
