Bringing Life to Leather by Stahl at ACLE

In a world in which mankind strives to be evermore driven by Green, environmentally friendly technologies, Stahl sees this viewpoint as a means for “Bringing Life to Leather”. This will be the theme behind this year's outstanding “Green” display at ACLE Shanghai, 1-3 Sept 2010, featuring new, locally manufactured products as a basis for upgrading technologies that can make use of lower grade hides and ensure improved cutting values.

The cost of manufacture is becoming an increasingly important focus for Chinese businesses and the leather industry is no exception. Stahl's hugely successful manufacturing facility in Suzhou provides an outstanding resource for wet-end end, dyeing and finishing products manufactured in China. At ACLE, visitors to the Stahl stand will be able to see just how important these locally manufacture products are to providing lower cost, added value solutions to leather processing while maintaining worldwide standard of quality.

In recent years, high grade hides have become increasingly difficult to obtain and much of the leather industry is turning lower grade hides into highly saleable and profitable leather using innovative finishing products. Typical among these are Stahl's cationic finishing products, the Beautymaker range of finishes and other ideas and systems produced at Suzhou and destined for showing within the Stahl display.

Other upgrading methods to be featured will include polishable stucco and heat foam systems.

Products from Suzhou also feature in many other parts of the display. There will be fashion-focussed concepts based on the latest wax and oil range, environmentally responsible concepts featuring Stahl RSL-free products and new polyurethane resins from Suzhou. Other Suzhou leather finishing products used for the display will include the new RC-77-022 and RC-77-122 compact aqueous resins, WT-77-002 water top coat and MA-77-089 auxiliary, all of which have been developed at Suzhou for use on fashionable soft upholstery leather.

This extensive display will be supported by crusts made by the Colours and Tanning Products division using the new series of Corilene fatliquors and Synektan syntans.

The collection of leathers on display will be based on trend colours and fashion ideas provided by Stahl's Design Studio in Milan for the Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 season. These will be showcased by a collection of leather bags and boots aimed at showing some of the latest market trends.

ACLE Shanghai will be a great occasion for visitors to meet Stahl staff. Among those present will be CEO Huub van Beijeren, and Divisional Directors from Leather Finish, Colours and Tanning Products, Permuthane and Picassian divisions.
