Meet at Agra – a successful event

The curtain fell on the 4th Meet at Agra (30th-31st Oct), which saw a participation of 180 companies exhibiting in an area of 7,000 square metres. The trade fair showcased raw materials, leather & technology trends as well as numerous footwear components. With 5220 visitors from accredited manufacturing sector, the Meet at Agra exhibition as well as the Indian footwear industry proved to be in excellent health.

The two day event organised by the Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber (AFMEC), saw over 250 Indian and foreign exhibitor stalls from countries including Italy, Germany, China, Brazil, Thailand, Hong Kong, Egypt and Pakistan.

Puran DAWAR, President AFMEC stated “We are extremely pleased with this years influx of visitors as they endorse our exhibition's increasingly international appeal and ability to provide the best platform for sourcing and networking. The materials presented were full of important new elements and added value. We saw excellent leathers, value added components and very interesting new machines. This year's show has generated a business of Rs. 600 crores.”

“The fair was enlivened by a growing presence of export cum domestic manufacturers and also a few retail brands. The Meet at Agra once again endorsed that it's a not to be a missed show and the most important platform for networking,” stressed SHAHROO Mohsin, Senior Vice President AFMEC.

Amit Chopra, MD Shoes & Accessories noted “, The event confirms its role as an international benchmark for Leather, components and technology. Our analysis reveals that 70% of people are regular visitors who take advantage of this opportunity to source raw materials and 25% participation of International exhibitors and visitors endorses the growing popularity of the event. All the overseas visitors have expressed very positive comments. Meet at Agra is an extremely interesting fair because it succeeds in offering a truly international panorama of materials on offer.”

The fair will be inaugurated by Mr. Sudhir Bobde, IAS, Commissioner Agra Division and Presided by Smt. Anjula Singh Mahaur, Mayor Agra. The Guest of Honour is Mr. M. Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman FDDI . The other dignitaries gracing the occasion would are Mr. Tanvir Zafar Ali, Vice Chairman, ADA,Mr. R. K. Jalan, Chairman Central Region, CLE, Mr. Naresh Bhasin, Chairman Western Region, CLE, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, President,IFCOMA.
