Earlier, in his welcome address, Mr. Arvind Vadhera, Chairman of EPCH, said “this show is a part of the strategy of the Council to promote and expand each segment of the Handicrafts sector. Fashion jewellery and accessories is an important export basket which has tremendous potential to grow in the world market.”
“EPCH looks at this fair not only as a medium of promotion of exports but also as an opportunity for attracting investment in India for producing jewellery of international requirement. Countries like Italy and France, who are leaders in this segment may like to set up their production units in India due to abundance of of raw material, professional skills, labour and low cost involvement in production. If this happens, India is definitely going to be benefitted not only in terms of increase in exports but also in the improvement of production techqniques, presentation and employment generation,” Mr. Vadhera added.
The three-day show is expected to generate large number of business enquiries and export orders. The last show had generated orders worth over Rs. 50 crore and going by the trends in the world market, an increase of at least 10% in orders booking is anticipated.
