BFC-JSL Road Show 2005-06 jeopardized

Bangkok Fashion City planned a Road Show 2005-06 involving fashion promotional events in eight markets of Switzerland, China, France, Italy, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, United States, and Hong Kong.
JSL, an entertainment producer, bagged contract from the Industry Ministry to organize Road Show 2005-06.
So far, eight events have been held in five markets and the remaining shows will be held in UAE, the US and Hong Kong.
JSL wants to revise the Road Show 2005-06 programme as per the needs of private operators for added valuable backing and extend the project to next month.
BFC has rejected their request while JSL's appeal has also raised criticism.
Meanwhile, JSL held a press conference recently to clarify its stand but out of the three private fashion-related business associates, only Thai Garment Manufacturers' Association attended the meeting.
According to the three associations, organizing in-store shows would not raise the awareness of Thai brands and build up orders.
Unlike trade shows, in-store promotion is fitting for retailing products at big discounts.
