IMC Wing's 'Women Entrepreneurs 2007' inaugurated

Ms Elizabeth Thabete, Deputy Minister of Trade & Industry of South Africa, inaugurated the IMC Ladies' Wing's 'Women Entrepreneurs 2007' Exhibition at the banquet hall of Hotel Taj President in Mumbai.
Those who joined her in lighting the auspicious lamp to signify the inauguration of this prestigious two-day event were: IMC President Mr. Niraj Bajaj, Ladies' Wing President Ms Minal Bajaj, the Trustees of the Ladies' Wing Ms. Sharayu Daftary and Ms. Nilima Kilachand and the Exhibition Committee Chairperson Ms. Vandana Kanoria and Ladies' Wing Centenary Committee Chairperson Ms. Smita Parekh.
Ms Elizabeth Thabete visited various stalls and keenly examined the quality of products on display which included designer garments, fashion accessories, jewellery and life style products.
She said: “I compliment the IMC Ladies' Wing for encouraging Women Entrepreneurs to display these super products for sale at affordable prices. This exhibition provides a much needed opportunity to Women Entrepreneurs with little means and with no retail outlet of their own.”
Complimenting the Ladies' Wing, Mr. Niraj Bajaj said: “The Ladies' Wing which started in 1966 as a women's forum at IMC for creating socio-economic awareness and encouragement to the spirit of enterprise has now grown into a dynamic organization for empowering women.
Little wonder, if the South African Minister who inaugurated this exhibition feels inclined to replicate this model in her country also.”
