Karl Lagerfeld to exhibit Chanel's jackets in Japan

German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld will be exhibiting tweed jackets of French fashion house Chanel in Tokyo in March this year.

The seven-week exhibition will be aimed at reaffirming Chanel's commitment to Asia and enhance its image in the vital Japanese market.

The exhibition will comprise of nearly 100 photos from Karl and stylist Carine Roitfeld's soon to be released book “The Little Black Jacket”. The book depicts several celebrities and some known personalities wearing Chanel jackets.

During his visit to Japan, Karl will also unveil an outlet and launch the winter couture show.

The last major event organized by Chanel in Japan was in 2004, when it unveiled a 10-storey tower in Ginza.

Besides his visit to Japan, Karl Lagerfeld has lined up many other projects for the current year, which includes the launch of a 100-piece women's collection to be retailed on net-a-porter from this month.

The new line termed “ageless” uses lot of denim and leather, and is especially meant for girls in their late teens and women in early 20s.
