Roots, the official outfitter to the 2006 US Olympic Team, is reporting a 15-20 percent increase in online sales and a 25 percent increase in general web traffic as compared to its original forecast.
The increase in expected sales and traffic reflects the recent push by Roots to drive consumers to the website for the latest in Team USA clothing. In addition to their escalated sales and marketing efforts, Roots has maximized the benefits of the scalable web commerce solution created in 2002 with web commerce partner PFSweb Inc, an integrated business solution and business process outsourcer.
PFSweb provides a turnkey e-commerce solution for Roots, including web-hosting, total order management, payment processing and fraud prevention, fulfillment, customer care and distribution.
Michael Budman, Co-founder of Roots, said, "We are fortunate to have an extremely scalable and robust e-commerce solution that allows us to take advantage of the global reach in support of the US Olympic Team."
"We are proud of the collection of apparel we have developed for the US Olympic Team this year and are pleased with the positive response received from the American public. At Roots, we pride ourselves on our excellent customer care and are delighted to have partnered with PFSweb to ensure our online shoppers are offered the same high quality care we provide in our stores," Budman added.
Mark Layton, Chief Executive Officer of PFSweb, said, "We are working in conjunction with Roots to ensure, protect and enhance the Roots brand experience.
