Nida brings to life grandeur of Indian cinema at WIFW

Primarily a digitally designed collection, it spans within 3 major design languages essentially revolving around line art. Using line art as flat wireframe constellation patterns to 3- dimensionalising into triangulated crystalized forms to random angular shape formations, the collections sees interesting mirror imaging of intensely intricate designs.

Embroideries in the collection are essentially textural lending delicacy to the light weight fabrics that have been used extensively.

Colors range from dull greys to murky greens to a happy palette of various shades of fuchsia, lime green, turquoise and inky blues, to shades of purple, a dash of red and several shades of yellow and neutral flesh tones.

The major silhouettes are variations of the mullet in shirts, skirts and dresses. Shoulders are prominent in the collection. Be it in terms of sharp shoulders in summer jackets or as textural embroidery highlighting the shoulder.

Plenty of breezy summer silhouettes will be seen in the collection. A lot of tucks and pleats and subtle dart manipulations add to the stylization of the collection. Collars have been given importance.

Fabrics used range from handlooms from various parts of India, to several kinds of fine count power loom cottons and rayon, light weight silks and georgettes and some lycra based fabrics.
