Fashion mega-brand Bottega Veneta tops LBSI list in 2006

Leading research institution, The Luxury Institute made announcement about understated fashion mega-brand Bottega Veneta outdistanced Hermes and Armani as the most prestigious luxury fashion brand in the 2006 Luxury Brand Status Index survey (LBSI) of Luxury Fashion Designers conducted with wealthy consumers by the New York City-based Luxury Institute.
Bottega Veneta's relatively low awareness level of 21 percent, vs. Hermes, at 55 percent, and Armani, at 74 percent, demonstrates tremendous upside potential for this classic Italian brand that is part of the Gucci Group portfolio.
Wealthy customers rated 21 leading Luxury Fashion brands based on their perceptions of critical brand reputation metrics. These brands included (alphabetically): Armani, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Christian Dior, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Faconnable, Fendi, Ferragamo, Gucci, Hermes, Hugo Boss, Izod Lacoste, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Polo Ralph Lauren, Prada, Versace, and Yves St. Laurent.
The Luxury Institute surveyed a nationally representative sample of more than 500 households with a minimum of $200,000 in gross annual income and a minimum net worth of $750,000 (including home equity).
