Founder Matt Potts is the designer and developer of the sandals. His story was covered twice during the past five years in Inventor's Digest magazine. Since September 2001 Matt has developed, patented, designed and introduced several styles of athletic shoes.
His vision is to modularize shoes to carry specialized and interchangeable inserts - for GPS, MP3 memory and data memory, as well as other interchangeable components that fit into a port (hence, ArchPort).
ArchPort shoes have been covered by Good Morning America, Maxim Magazine, America West Magazine, Footwear Plus, and other media. In 2004 the shoes were selected as a winner by Invent Now America, a contest sponsored by the US Patent Office and Popular Mechanics magazine.
Over the years of product testing and Internet sales, ArchPort shoes have proven to be very comfortable and durable. A number of celebrities wear the shoes, including Jimmy Stafford of the rock group Train, who comments, "love them! wore them hiking in Red Rock Canyon outside my home in Vegas the other day very comfortable."
ArchPort has been providing quality shoes since 2001. The mission of ArchPort is to develop footwear products that meet the next generation's demanding needs for function, fashion and performance.
Footwear has been generally marketed in four dimensions; Fashion, Performance, Stability and Comfort. ArchPort adds the fifthdimension -Function (interactive). ArchPort is the first interactive functional footwear product on the market.
There is no other footwear product on the market that carries a removable and exchangeable component in the sole.
