Billy Martin's USA Inc is currently in negotiations with a well-established western lifestyle company for licensing the Billy Martin's brand for a new line of premium denim products.
"We believe a Billy Martin's-branded line of jeans and denims made available through an established company with historical roots in the western lifestyle market niche will appeal to an expanding market segment. And we believe we can help expand the jean/denim premium market segment, with our 28 years of brand equity; flagship store representation in New York and Hollywood; established visuals and imagery; and an established customer base with star-power testimonials," said Doug Newton, CEO.
Premium Denim Market Rapidly Expanding:
-- According to the research firm, NPD Group, denim sales reached a whopping $15.26 billion in 2005, with jeans priced $80 and up rising 27.7 percent to $335.4 million.
-- "Some market researchers believe the higher end market expansion is being driven in part by the baby boom generation, which grew up wearing jeans and will most likely want to wear them for the duration," said Newton.
Manufacturers Search for Western Authenticity:
"Billy Martin's jeans will reflect what we believe is the best representation of our western heritage and do so in an authentic fashion. Many of the top premium brands today try to reflect a product with a 'western flair.' In recent years," Newton said "there has been an explosion of designers developing American-inspired apparel, primarily high-end premium jeans, with each trying to distinguish itself from others.
