Market for golf wear is on rise

Puma has started their golf line in the spring of 2005 under the name of Puma Golf. Their main target is for women in their 20's to 30's. They started the new line with the concept of “the golf market needs the fresh input of Puma”, which had seem like an arrogant strategy but the response was on the contrary.

They have been well accepted by their clients and are very strong in relationships with department stores. They plan on increasing their sales within the next 3 years to 5 billion JYen.

The women's golf wear market is still far behind the men's, but is on the rise. Still, the reason for new members to the market for women lies in the reason that women purchase more in set and is more of a repeating customer than the men.

Many golf wear brands that have women's line have been seeing great growth in sales and plan on strengthening their merchandising for the women.
