PremiumWear buys out John Forsyth Shirt Company

PremiumWear Inc announced that is has been acquired by The John Forsyth Shirt Company Ltd., d.b.a. Forsyth of Canada, (“Forsyth”). Forsyth is one of the premiere manufacturers and importers of woven dress and sport shirts as well as neckwear in North America. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“No changes are currently planned to locations, facilities, inventory or company name,” said Tim Klouda, President, Promotional Products Division, PremiumWear, Inc., “We look forward to a very successful 2006 with business as usual and believe this new ownership is a very exciting and positive move for the Company.”

“Forsyth is very strong in the sport and dress shirt category and we envision applications for these products in the promotional products market,” said Harris Hester, President, Forsyth of Canada, “We look forward to combining Forsyth products with the strength of the PremiumWear Complete Service business model.”

The John Forsyth Shirt Company Ltd. based in Toronto, Canada, manufactures and imports dress shirts, sport shirts, knitwear, and other apparel, and has been manufacturing men's dress shirts in Canada since 1903. In the Canadian marketplace, Forsyth markets apparel under license from Pierre Cardin, Dockers, and Daniel Hechter labels, among others, as well as its own Forsyth of Canada label.

PremiumWear Inc with a history dating back to 1886 and headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, designs, sources and markets knit and woven shirts, other apparel and accessories to the promotional products/ advertising specialty channels, the imprinted sportswear and uniform markets, and the golf pro and resort shop industries.
