Laura Ashley, the fashion and fabrics chain, has staged a comeback with strong sales and profits in the first half of the year.
The Laura Ashley chain store has registered a pre-tax profit of £3 million in the six months to July 29, as against the loss of £200,000 for the same period last year.
The profit is attributed to further cost-cuts and strong demands in its chain stores and the same profitable trend is expected to continue despite tough commercial conditions ahead in Britain.
