UK fashion magazine Drapers has appointed Baugur Group CEO Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson as the second most influential person in the UK fashion industry, after Marks & Spencer's Stuart Rose.
Jón Ásgeir said this is a great honour, confirming the powerful status of Baugur Group and affiliated companies internationally.
He has jumped 12 places from last year's list. A new entrant is Managing Director of Baugur London, Gunnar Sigurðsson, in Jón Ásgeir's former 14th place.
The magazine argues that Jón Ásgeir stands for the year's biggest deal, Baugur Group's acquisition of House of Fraser, and that other companies connected to Baugur Group have increased considerably their activities in the fashion market this year.
