Saniya Khan showcases Fall/Winter 07 Collection at LFW

The inspiration for her new collection celebrates the designer's multicultural background and artistic influences. Her Fall/Winter Collection 07/08 reflects her childhood home from where she has chosen a few images and memories signifying an endless source of strength and beauty to create the exquisite pieces.

Saniya describes her collection as 'A Tribute to Her Parents' which formed a home where she and her siblings were brought up with immense love, warmth, and endless inspiration:

"I would watch my father design flower beds to plant the most gorgeous of roses, whose colours ranged from the faintest of apricots to lush peaches, into deepest of maroons. My mother's admiration of colour and nature could be seen in the inlay of marble mosaic on her fireplace, which she had designed."

Saniya who has been trained with a degree in textile design creates work that is a fusion of art and design together. It is her unique ability to create an extraordinary textile that is the masterpiece behind her designing success. Working with luxurious materials in rich palettes including textured silks, sumptuous velvets, leather and furs - she surprises and delights with unique combinations and embellishment, infusing her pieces with soulful techniques and artistic expression.
