Garment maker Scavi Vietnam plans to take over Italian innerwear firm DBA Europe Group. It is negotiating the acquisition.
Sources informed that after this acquisition, Scavi Vietnam will inherit DBA Europe's advanced technology as well as its brands Playtex, Dim and Wonderbar.
If this happens, company's turnover may rise to US $1 billion per annum, with net profit reaching approximately $100 million. Vietnamese Ministry of Industry has submitted a proposal to the Government for approving the take over.
This acquisition will be helpful for growth of local fashion and clothing industries. DBA Europe, which accounts for 15 percent market share of EU's apparel goods sector, owns many normal and high-grade brands.
