Gianfranco Ferre children's collection for S/S 2008

The potential for change is part of the GF FERRÉ genetic wiring and the new Spring/Summer 2008 collection is characterized by sobriety, sophistication and distinction.

Details and forms are increasingly precise and special. Unprecedented chromatic combinations and mixes of materials that alternate techno-sport values with definitely luxurious categories. A new, highly charged mood emerges, marked by unmistakable uniqueness.

The day wear items have been developed in the best GF FERRÉ tradition: basic, comfortable pieces, edgy and lively. Blue and white combinations, heathered tones and silver grays, interspersed with splashes of red, with lots of impalpable nylon and flowing gabardine.

Little boys and girls play in a kaleidoscope of silk-screened geometric patterns in a context of shiny and matt finishes, painted and metallic effects, geometric graphic patters and motifs boasting an oriental flair that reproduce vine shoots and butterfly wings, luxurious embroidery work and applications of micro bugle beads.

The elegant part of the collection is also innovative, brightened by lemon yellow, mint green, purple and pink, colors that stand out next to natural tones, unequivocally confirming the allure of the garments, adorned by important embroidery work, sartorial finished work and sophisticated details.

The most formal items, on the other hand, opt for shantung and silk crêpe, for raw and treated linens, for fancy pique and cottons with a slinky feel, for openwork Swiss lace and fine batiste.

The new “junior chic” GF FERRÉ children's look culminates in the pieces designed for the most important occasions, made from black silk shantung and white ottoman file.

The consummate Gianfranco Ferré touch is found in the “obi” ribbons in two-tone grosgrain, which serve as an authentic, sublime leitmotif.
