Lord Isaacs, the brand long known for its comfortable and casual lines of classically inspired women's denim jeans, pants, knit tops and sweaters, has been sold by I.C. Isaacs and Company, L.P. (IC Isaacs) to Golden Age Brands LLC.
I.C. Isaacs is a designer and marketer of branded Jeanswear and sportswear based in New York City and Baltimore. The company offers full lines of jeanswear for men and women under the Marithe + Francois Girbaud brand in the United States, and Puerto Rico.
“The Lord Isaacs label has a long and rich history with I.C. Isaacs having been in use since 1966,” commented Gregg Holst, Chief Financial Officer for I.C. Isaacs & Company Inc.
“However, having recognized it is not central to our business plans going forward, we wanted to find a new owner who would carry forward the brand with the same commitment to quality and value that our company has had through the long history of the Lord Isaacs label. We feel that we have found an ideal new home for Lord Isaacs in Golden Age Brands.”
“We are planning to expand the Lord Isaacs name going forward, while reinforcing and strengthening the things that this venerable brand has always been known for,” said Lynda Swann, president of North Carolina based Golden Age Brands.
“We expect to announce licensing arrangements soon, with our goal being for current product shipments to key retail customers continuing without interruption. The Lord Isaacs acquisition will nicely diversify our portfolio. It gives us a well-known brand in the mature consumers segment, and it strengthens our presence in classic casual women's wear.”
