A company in Southern California has solved a problem that has been troubling anglers and boaters for years: trying to produce a pair of sunglasses that float.

Jeff Taylor, company VP, said, "When designing our sunglasses, our objective was to address 4 areas of concern: maximum protection, ultimate comfort, a floating feature, and we wanted to provide these features at an affordable price. We got the idea for the floating feature after talking to several friends who lost expensive sunglasses in the ocean."

FishGillz Sunglass Company is now the first company to offer a line of high-quality polarized sunglasses that float if dropped overboard.

Designed specifically for boaters and fishermen, FishGillz frames weigh an incredibly light 1/2 of an ounce, offer 100% UV400 protection, and have a sleek, stylish sports frame design.

The lenses, made by the 3M corporation, provide perfect optical clarity and distortion-free visual acuity, which is ideal for reducing glare. The frames are made of a very flexible yet durable polymer blend, and FishGillz provides all this for under $50.

FishGillz uses a multi-layer, high-impact lens, which includes a dual anti-reflective layer, a scratch-resistant hard-coat, a waterproof layer, and a polarized micro-filter that provides total protection for the user.

The ultra-light frames float without the use of any straps, cords or pads, which are typically awkward and restrict vision.

FishGillz were created for water-related sports, but because of their ultra-light, wrap-around sport frames, and distortion-free polarized lenses, they can be used for any and all types of outdoor activities.
