Lifestyle brand Roots official was helped by US Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Apolo Ohno to launch Team USA collection.
The Olympic wear for Torino 2006 pays homage to the culture of the host country, Italy, while capturing the spirit of what it means to be American.
With this launch, the collection is now available at http://www.Target.com and http://www.roots.com. In January, one month before the Games kick off in Torino, the Roots Olympic Team USA line will also be available in 1,400 Target stores throughout the United States.
Show Host Matt Lauer interviewed Olympic short track speedskating phenomenon Apolo Ohno, a Gold Medalist favourite in Torino (following his Gold and Silver medals at Salt Lake City in 2002) and US bobsled driver and Olympic hopeful Shauna Rohbock as they modeled several pieces from the collection.
Established in 1973 as a natural footwear company, Roots is Canada's leading lifestyle brand known around the world for its wide range of quality leather goods, clothing and accessories.
Starting as a tiny store in Toronto selling the Roots Negative Heel Shoe, Roots now has more than 125 stores in Canada and the United States along with 20 locations in Asia.
In addition, Roots has a state-of-the art leather goods factory and design centre in Toronto.
