Brooke Shields at launch of Block Mercantile Lifestyle Store

Celebrity actress Brooke Shields will join her longtime friend, native Santa Fean Clarissa Block, to co-host the holiday launch of the Block Mercantile lifestyle store, 418 Montezuma Avenue, on Friday, November 25, from 5-7 p.m.

Block, a fashion stylist, interior decorator and former public relations director for Donna Karan International, recently returned to her hometown after a successful 20-year career in New York to open Block Mercantile with business partner Bob Melet, who runs Block Mercantile's sister store, Melet Mercantile, in New York's SoHo district.

The unique store reflects Block's and Melet's dedication to fostering a contemporary lifestyle through rustic modern design that combines function and clean styling with a nod to original 20th-century collector's pieces and today's newest designs.

Occupying a light-filled, loft-like space; the shop's airy, rustic and contemporary interior allows a flexible presentation for diverse products ranging from vintage clothing, textiles and wearable art, to antique and modern home furnishings and accessories.
