Net income at French luxury goods and premium fashion apparel marketer Kering, climbed 16.9 per cent year on year to €814 million in the full year of 2016, while net income from continuing operations, excluding non recurring items totalled €1,282 million. Earnings per share amounted to €6.46 in 2016 as against €5.52 for the previous year.

According to Kering, Western Europe and the Asia-Pacific region posted double-digit rise in revenue on a comparable basis, but was moderate in North America and lacklustre in Japan.
Gross profit for the reporting year amounted to €7,790 million, up 10.1 per cent on the previous year, while at €1,886 million; recurring operating income drove up 14.5 per cent year over year. (AR)
