Held in Malaysia’s two most exotic travel destinations, Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur, the event, themed as ‘Asia for Asia’, attracted top buyers, media, editors, retailers, celebrities and important fashion industry leaders from around the world.

Designers from countries like Malaysia, China, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore showcased their exquisite fashion creations at the soiree.

Multiple-award winning design label Salut De Miel, owned by Korean designer duo Young-zi Ko and Migeum Kim, featured a mixed collection of exclusive day and evening wears. Based on a soothing palette of pastel hues, the ensembles were enhanced with smart panelling and grid-like prints.

The line showcased mid-and-short length dresses, ankle grazing pants, palazzos, skirts with metallic hems, jumpsuits and long belted gowns in tones of lavender, gold, blush pink, white and bright red.

Aly & Rachelle, the womenswear brand from London’s Central Saint Martin graduate, Christine Lam, featured a shimmery collection of partywear dresses in gorgeous eye-catching shades of purple, emerald, orange, electric blue and timeless black and white.

Young Filipino fashion designer Avel Bacudio scooped up the ‘Asia’s Most Influential Designer of 2014’ title at the closing ceremony of the event. The designer was chosen, for the coveted trophy, on the basis of public online voting as well as expert inputs from the official Asian delegation, which included the leaders of fashion weeks and associations, international fashion media and trade buyers.
