The show began with the Toronto-based designer Lucian Matis’s ready-to-wear signature collection MATIS, which was an interesting amalgamation of kaleidoscopic and abstract prints in bold vibrant hues. The line includes tailored two-buttoned blazers, long-sleeved dresses, sheaths and draped-backed tops.

Next in line was Toronto’s highly-specialized linen boutique Whitney Linen by Whitney Westwood. The linen made collection includes a teal gown, a white dress with a dramatic long cape and a dove grey outfit with pearl trims.

The Canadian home decor brand Kothani Home by Kirsten Kothani showcased a unique spectacle of ‘carpet couture’ featuring tropical bird and fruit prints. All the outfits were created with the brand’s extensive collection of carpets and home accessories. The line includes sophisticated bustier dresses, coats, high waist pants and capes in lively shades of red, pink and black.

Designer duo Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy behind the Montreal outerwear label Mackage showcased 1980’s inspired modern street wear look in their collection made mainly of leathers and nylons. The retro line featured moto jackets, vests, bombers, hooded windbreakers, trenches, leggings, pencil skirts, shorts and halter crop tops in minty green, black and reddish-brown colours.

The affordable apparel brand Joe Fresh presented an exciting array of modern sportswear ensembles with a hint of 1960’s fashion trends. The collection featured futuristic patterns and sleek silhouettes mixed with horizontal stripes and geometric and digital prints. The line includes demure bow blouses, ruffled collared shirts and capes as well as sheath dresses and pleated skirts.
