Latest trends, be it in apparels or accessories, always create a spur in a fashonista’s heart. In today’s fast pacing world, fashion trends also change with an equal rhythm. The passing year 2012 also witnessed several fashion trends that were either embraced or shunned by fashion lovers instantly.

Among those top fashion trends, which were happily accepted and imitated by fashion enthusiasts from all over the world, were apparels with fruit prints on them. This fresh and colourful trend gained an impressive fan following amongst all generations in a short span of time.

Garments with prints of cherries, strawberries, apples, grapes and oranges were seen on international runways and other fashionable gatherings. Labels like Prada and Stella McCartney also helped in making the trend more popular by infusing fruity prints in their eclectic creations.

Another noticeable trend of the year was peplum tops, which were prominently seen in almost all the beauty pageants of 2012. Influenced by the looks of 40s and 60s, this classic trend features exaggerated flips of fabrics falling over the hips or stomach. These tops are usually worn with tight fitted trousers or short skirts.

The next most popular trend of 2012 was abstract or ornamental designs that graced all kinds of outfits – be it baroque style dresses, T-shirts or gowns. These trendsetting patterns were accepted and appreciated open-heartedly everywhere.

Plaids, the trademark Scottish checks, are the next on the list of most popular fashion trends of 2012. These pastel hued gothic checks on shorts, skirts, jackets and trousers ruled the hearts of all young fashion lovers of the world.

The last in the list of 2012’s best fashion trends is the comeback of lace in contemporary casual fashion arena. The age-old staple delicate fabric was incorporated in petticoats, handkerchiefs, dresses and other fashion accessories.
