The second position goes to the senior most member of British Royalty, Queen Elizabeth II. The 86-year-old monarch with her colourful choices of graceful skirt suits, worn during Olympic Games and her Diamond Jubilee celebrations, emerged as a surprising fashion icon this year.

The next position goes to the US First Lady Michelle Obama, who appeared in a Michael Kors created metallic gown at the White House Event on December 2, 2012. The fashion limelight hogging pleated gown featured intricate detailing based on gold and silver hues.

American actress Julienne Moore mesmerised everyone by appearing in a bright yellow Dior Couture gown at Emmy Awards on September 23, 2012. The voluminous full-length skirt and tight full-sleeves top makes her the right choice for the fourth position of best dressed celebrities of 2012.

Another Christian Dior creation sported by Hollywood actress Charlize Theron wins the fifth position in the 2012’s best dressed celebrities list. Worn at the Golden Globes awards ceremony on January 15, Theron made heads turn with her pastel toned deep neck flowy gown.
