Dressed up casuals: New look for this summer

It is time to gear up with the heat in the bright days of summer and dressing up your casuals is the new look for coming summer. Linen shirts, colorful trousers, dressed up casuals, long blowy dresses and wide legged pants are also going to be in trend for this summer.

In a conversation with fibre2fashion, the head of designs of Blackberrys, Mr. Sandeep Khapra said, “Designer linen shirts with patch flap pocket options and Kurta inspired silhouettes shall make a strong style statement for the coming summer.”

“Color is moving into the uncharted territory of suits and trousers. Khakis in rich hues are new fashionable menswear staple, but color is also making its way in formal men’s suits, trousers as well as jackets and the colors for formal wears are very subtle such as dark wine and dark teal,” he informs.

When asked about casual wears, he says, “Dressing up your casuals is the new look. Even cotton shirts and trousers can be made dressy by adding layers with linen jackets and waistcoats as well as it can be accessorized with a pocket square.”

“Full sleeved circular or flat knits in linen make you stand apart from the printed T-shirt crowd and mercerized cotton in dark colors with tape details to give a club look,” he continues.

Talking about the designer wear, he says, “Designer elements such as yokes, cut and sew panels, satin or tape details make trousers stand out from the boring tailored look. These design details add personality and versatility to the basic clothing item.”

“Designer shirts with paneling, pin tuck tape details are young and fashionable. Nehru collar options are suitable for ceremonial dressing,” he adds.

According to Indian fashion designer Sounia Gohil, well-known for her imperial and rich in heritage designs, colors for this summer are fresh yellows, mint, honeydew, burnt orange, goldfish, poppy reds and neutrals such as grey and white.

“Long blowy dresses, wide legged pants and summer floral texture will be the trend for this summer,” she says.
