South African Fashion Week to feature best design talents

Only the best and most-talented designers from South African fashion industry are going to present their latest creations at the forthcoming South African Fashion Week titled Spring/Summer 2013 Collections.

Scheduled to take place from April 11-13, 2013, in Johannesburg, the event will feature fashion ranges from more than thirty well-known designers and will also conduct design competitions for new up and coming creative talents and fashion students.

Luxury womenwear designer Suzaan Heyns will open the event with her bridal collection as part of the Motions Sheer Glamour Show. Inspired from the old Hollywood cinema and onscreen divas of yore, the line will feature several intricately crafted tulle dresses and romantic gowns made from vintage silk and lace.

Clothing label Ephymol, by model turned designer Ephraim Molingoane, will cap off the three-day-long event with his fresh menswear and womenswear pieces. Once again drawing inspiration from old Hollywood glamour, the collection is based upon the retro looks of 1950s and 60s era. Made with cotton, wool, luxe chiffon and delicate lace, the ensembles are being decorated with sequins and beadwork.

Other than Heyns and Ephymol, the event will also feature collections from Black Coffee, Rubicon, Colleen Eitzen, Naked Ape, Lunar, Vesselina Pentcheva and Clive Rundle.
