Brain & Beast, a brand set up by three designers—Ángel Vilda, Olivar and Veronica Cesar Raposo—has been announced the winner of 12th edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion.

The collection featuring summer proposals like normal and oversized shirts, silk scarves and handkerchiefs Palestinians (kaffiyes) complemented by Lord Paul’s signature knit sweaters and sunglasses proved successful in luring the jury.

Amongst others who drew attention were Yerse, which presented “Californian Dream”, a collection drawing inspiration from 60s California. The vintage collection dominated by oft colours and pastels, featured clothes with floral prints on tie-dye fabrics with ethnic embroidery with beads and laces.

‘Excessive stimulation of a specific type’ by Yiorgos Eleftheriades featured silhouettes with stylish sculpted proposals dominated by straight cuts and colours like lilac, white, gray, green and brown.

Guillermina Baeza choose Morocco as the inspiration for his swimwear and lingerie collection titled ‘Tànger, mythical terra d’records i llegendària’. The collection of bikinis, swimsuits and trikinis embraced vibrant colours for day and dark shades for late evenings.

Justica Ruano in his collection ‘The Beauty of Repetition’ tried to highlight two concepts – movement and repetition—through his apparel pieces made rich with materials like silk, chiffon, organza, jacard, crepes and tulle. Pastel yellow, white, silver, gold and dusty pink colours dominated the collection. The idea was to represent a woman who defines style all the time.

Josep Abril, in his menswear collection ‘ICE SS # 2013N33’ used dark shades like blacks, grays and blues for Bermudas, unstructured jackets, hipsters with overskirts stockings and skirt-shorts.

Comella Totom relooked at the tie-dye mixtures of textured looks to prepare his collection of light dresses like jackets in suede and lingerie-style skirts with knitted sweaters.

Post declaration of the ongoing edition’s winner, Miriam Ponsa, the winner of last edition, showcased his collection ‘Raiers’. The collection highlighting hand embroidery on pieces made using fabrics like silk, linen, cotton voile and twill, came in blue, green and gray shades.

Besides parades, the 080 Barcelona Fashion also extended platform for over 50 pop-up stores offering fashion apparels and accessories.

The event which is presumed to have drawn over 30,000 visitors also showcased collections of some of the leading industry names like Mango, Desigual, Custo Barcelona, Juan Pedro López, TCN, Krizia Robustella, Zazo & Brull and Manuel Bolaño.
