The 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation held at the Gardens of Buckingham palace saw a 400 seat raised catwalk surrounded by a bed of flowers for the 20 unique fashion shows at the Coronation Festival.

These exclusive shows depicted the story of the iconic British fashion and style over the past sixty years, showcased by the companies that have been awarded the prestigious Royal Warrant of Appointment (RWA).

Royal Warrant holders DAKS, Austin Reed, Hunter Boots, Ettinger, Alice Temperley, John Lewis and Peter Jones showcased some of their latest collections in the catwalk celebration of British fashion.

Some of the oldest RWA holders like Henry Poole & Co, who were granted the Warrant by HM Queen Victoria in 1869 as court tailors, also showcased their hand-made custom made suits, entirely cut and made on their premises at Savile Row, Mayfair, in Central London.

Joining these iconic labels were some of Savile Row’s finest tailors like Gieves & Hawkes, Dege & Skinner, Johns & Pegg, Benson & Clegg, Thresher & Glenny and Kent Haste Lachter.

The catwalk also featured specially created pieces from contemporary London based designer Joey Bevan who took an original and artistic approach to showcase the wealth of companies and industrial sectors that bear the Royal seal of approval.

The collection included dresses made from Jaguar Land Rover and Bentley Car parts to origami paper dresses using materials from Talk Paper and Tom Smith international greetings, designs using upholstery and fabrics from Hardy Minnis, G.P and J Baker, and also dresses made from domestic electrical wires and Brinton Carpets.

The catwalk hosted designs of sustainability, classic tailoring and fresh designs for the future, successfully inspiring fantastic fashion and seasonal trends with the fashion shows.
