Backstage Cosmetix to host NY Runway Hair & Fashion Show

Backstage Cosmetix will present season three of Glam Fest, a fabulous fusion of multiple talents, including the best of hair, makeup, fashion and music on one runway. This year the theme of Glam Fest will celebrate “40 Years of Hip Hop” with a special tribute segment.

It is sure to please the elite of fashion & style with sponsors like UPTOWN MAGAZINE,FASHION TO FIGURE and VERBIFY, LLC and will include swag bags, vendors and worldclass entertainment like DJ. SWHIT of SIRIUS.

Glam Fest will also feature a competition for the best model in each category and is proud to announce that celebrity photographer, KEITH MAJOR, will serve as one of the judges and will award the winners a test shoot in his Manhattan studio. In years past, Glam Fest has featured designers like Kristi Vosbeck, named by Fashion Reverie as one of the top emerging designers to watch, Evelyn Lambert and Nathaniel White / Nena La Shiro.

This season the audience appeal will broaden to include the first fullfigured segment “Curve Culture” featuring the trendy styles and accessories from FASHION TO FIGURE current leaders of the fastgrowing, fullfigured, fashion industry.

Glam Fest Producer and Founder of Backstage Beauty & Cosmetix, Kiam Barrese, is a Master Hair Designer and Makeup Artist. As an industry veteran of hair & makeup to celebrities and an upscale clientele base, Kiam has a stellar reputation and a significant social media following.

Backstage Beauty & Cosmetix was founded in 2009 and since its inception has sponsored and participated in several fashion week runway shows in New York & Philly Fashion Week. Kiam is a known crew member on the sets of major music videos, movies and concerts. She has worked with celebrities such as Taraji P Henson, Erykah Badu and Mariah Carey to name a few.

In this 3rd year of Glam Fest, Kiam’s vision is to combine the beauty, fashion & entertainment industries together into one of the greatest collaboration runway events of the year. When asked what her audience can expect this year, Ms. Barrese says: “I created Glam Fest with a unique collaborative vision giving a fresh, new spin on the traditional runway. Combining a theatrical hair show with a traditional fashion show while highlighting all creative talents involved simultaneously.”
