Julien Macdonald, the famous Welsh-born designer known for his eclectic womenswear lines, has finally stepped into the menswear market.

The 42-year-old fashion talent has recently launched his maiden men’s clothing and accessory line in collaboration with the British retail chain Matalan.

Named after the designer’s London-based workshop’s postcode, the affordable collection titled W10 is inspired from hit television series’ like ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Downton Abbey’, as well as the immaculate Savile Row style tailoring.

Replete with jacquard patterns and sharply cut slim lines, the capsule range is comprised of four suits, one waistcoat, six shirts and accessories like dickie bows and pocket squares.

Earlier, Macdonald has collaborated with major high-street purveyors, such as Marks & Spencer on a knitwear line, and the department store giant Debenhams.

Founded in 1985, Matalan operates through a network of more than 200 stores across the UK.
