MITI reports all round growth of textile & apparel industry

The Footwear Manufacturers' Association has brought up issues of shortage of foreign workers, and concerns about growing competition from low quality footwear imports.
While the Government will take measures to address industries concerns, industry should also continue to increase productivity, and focus on differentiating Malaysia's products from that of the competition through better designs and application of new materials, as well as investing in R&D and adopting innovative global marketing strategies.
